It don’t think it’s a bad thing but when ever someone, only if they are friends or such of mine, tell me they like ‘Goth’ I alway’s seem to get excited and bombard them with information on Goths.
For example my boy friend got it into his head that because I’m into the Goth subculture, he had too too. I became excited when the thought was brought up and didn’t want him to have any misconception so I ended up bombarding him with the complete history. That conversation went somewhat like this:
Coen: I think I want to be a Goth.
Sary: Wait, but you know it isn’t something you can just decide, right? Coen: Why not? I just did.
Sary: -rants on with masses of information-
Coen: Can’t I just look like a Goth?
It’s a depressing reality to find out your boy friend has no interest in your favourite topic. Anyway, that would probably have to be my worst habit towards new-newbies. I think it’s all a subconscious need to not want all of my friends to turn into mall Goth’s. I’ve had friends that started getting into the fashion and then realised it was all a phase because they hated the subculture and they’ve never spoken to me again after that. It’s a horrible feeling.
Also, I found these little videos depicting Mall Goth’s and think they are a lil’ humorous.
