Day 29 – What do you think will happen to Goth in the future?

Well, what I hope to happen to Goth in the future is for the world to turn into the world from Repo! The Genetic Opera but unfortunately that has a very slim chance of coming true. What I think will happen to Goth in the future will probably be the distinction of the Trad Goth.

Cyber Goth, thought I do enjoy it, seems to be on a gigantic rise. This seems to be transforming the music completely. I’m not saying that I don’t love high beat dance-y  music but it just isn’t the same as those eighty Goth bands that used to be so many. Also the line between Rivet Head and Cyber Goth and Raver and Goth are blurring more so in my opinion. Which is a good thing for the scene but may make some more transformations.

Of course, every one can see Goth fashion being more accepted into the mainstream these days. I’m not quite sure of the result of this, it could be anything.

Anyway, this is just my two cents on the matter .Don’t forget, it’s merely two cents and my opinion.

As much as I like the new Cyber, darkwave and Synpop music it's sad how much music's changed since the 'Golden age of music' in the 80s…

But I hope that Goth doesn't become mainstreamish like Emo has recently. Anything mainstream will just be a fad that teens pick up to look cool, which they'll drop later.

While it could help with all the awful bullying, at the same time Goth would attract a whole bunch of people like the hipsters in black, rather nasty!

Ha, sorry for rambling, nice post!

I believe the goth scene will eventually be about cybergoth and dance beats (industrial rave as they call it? I mean come on haha) Also lots of new-wave goth bands have been appearing latelly.
I miss the old good days, although I do believe there still are some good bands that stick to a pattern we all love.

Interesting thoughts. I find that I am somewhat alone in my cyber-goth looks where I live. I feared it was dying out, actually. I like when goth can just be goth in all its different forms. I don't want one genre/style to ever take over.

I personally see goth slowing morphing into what some people distinguish as "Scene Kids Fashion" . . .
    Bla. 😛

I sure hope not. ,_, No offence to Scene-Kid-Fashion (Catchy name though) but I like my Goth fashion, well, Goth. Hehehe. :3
