New New Years Goals

Isaac cuddling some presents.
I know a lot of people complain that New Years Goals are pointless because no one ever does them but I’m the type of person that can really set goals that I know I can achieve and I continue to look at them throughout the year. The key is not to set insane goals. Don’t set a goal saying “I want to own a hundred skirts” when you’re a student and don’t have a job. If you want to check out last years (I’ve gone back and crossed out the ones I’ve completed) just jump to here.

New New Years Resolutions

  • Exercise regularly. This is one of those iffy goals that most people make. I’m not sure if I’ll continue but I’ve prepared it already by starting it early to see if it’s something of which I’m actually capable. I’m starting really small with beginner Pilates. (This is only half crossed off because during Christmas I gave up all ideas of moving my body in anyway.)
  • Finish reading the whole Sir Arthur Conan Doyle series of Sherlock Holmes. In the past two months I’ve crossed the first four books off that list already and I’m in love! They’re my current favourite. (I’m still in the middle of the last book but it shall be finished!)
  • Move out of my parents house.
  • Focus on buying accessories and my wardrobes other ‘problem areas’.
  • Continue blogging more regularly.
  • Eat more fruit! (Tomato’s a fruit, right?)

I first read ACD's Sherlock Holmes stories in elementary school, and God, do I love them! The Adventure of the Sussex Vampire was my favorite. What's your favorite story thus far?

& I agree that goals should be achieveable – starting with small steps and working your way up to the bigger. All your goals for the New Year seem totally achievable, so I wish you the best of luck completing them! ^^

There's a good sense in setting goals that actually can be achieved and you really try that too. Thats great! My only goal is to do some positive changes in my life and get rid of anything negative.

Make exercise fun and enjoyable. Find an exercise instructor with a wicked sense of humor or a stroll in a beautiful area. Take a dance class. You did great on your last years goals!

Kelsey: I can't remember the name but my favourite story is the first short story that had Irene Adler in it. I was giggling the entire way through! I also liked the short story that ends the Memoirs if Sherlock Holmes when he is apparently killed or taken away. I actually haven't read further than that at the moment but GOSH I nearly cried!

Your list sounds pretty good! I don't have many New Years Goals this year but I often set many goals for myself throughout the year; they also include reading more, blogging more, and buying more for "problem areas." I'm the opposite though; I have too many accessories and not enough clothes xD.

Hopefully you'll be able to stick to everything! It sounds like a reasonable list :p Do you have any place you're looking to move to?

I should be moving around Wollongong, where I'll be going to Uni. :3
