Christmas Romwe Haul Review – Studs, Sheer, Hearts And, Uh, Lions?

A while ago for Christmas I decided to make an order at ROMWE.com – a place of which the whole online fashion community has been obsessed. I’m glad that overall the store held up to all the hype. But have a read for yourselves.

Rivets Collar Black Shirt

Throughout the website I searched for a plain black chiffon blouse with sleeves but there weren’t many plain options. Instead I ended up with this blouse that I saw a review for by a YouTuber I follow. The blouse looked a lot more wonderful being worn than it does in the site pictures. Though I’m still a bit confronted by how much I will actually wear it with the fully studded collar.

Item Link: Here.

Quality: The quality is amazing and really shows in the studs. While the rose gold studs are quite heavy they are well inserted into the blouse. None of the backs of the studs are split but even so they would be quite easily fixed. On the other-hand there are a few thread strands around, some of which ripped on the buttons on it’s first wear.

Size: It comes in a one-size which is a bit baggy on myself but isn’t too over-sized (I’m a size eight to ten in Australian Ladies sizes). Unfortunately there are no options for plus sizes.

Flower Printed Black Chiffon Shirt

No matter how many times I told myself not to like this blouse I just couldn’t. I will always have a thing for floral prints and I loved that it was only half of the blouse which makes it all the more versatile.

Outfit Examples: Here and here.

Quality: The quality is good in general. While there are again quite a few loose threads the print is nice, I like that the buttons are exposed but at the same time I wouldn’t want to play with my cats while wearing it.

Size: This is exactly the same as the blouse above. Though I’ve found also that if I wish to close all the buttons the blouse lays strangely because my bust is a tiny bit too large.

Hollowed Heart Back Black Dress

As soon as I set my eyes on this dress on the website I was in love. There weren’t many pictures of it being wore so I was a bit mistaken about the front but luckily it was to my delight! So far I’ve had quite a bit of trouble with this but I love it too much to care – I want so much for it to work!

Item Link: Here.
Outfit Example: Here.

Quality: After struggling to zip myself up in it (trust me it does fit, if even a bit loose) the tip of the zip that you use to pull broke off and I had to replace it with a safety-pin for the meanwhile. I don’t think the problem was the quality rather than the zipper’s inability to move past a certain point while someone is wearing it. Considering I continued with the safety-pin and several others holding the dress together (because sometimes it lags when the sides of the zip are parted) but it seems to be the huge seam at that section and the small distance between it and the zip.

Size:
Maybe I should shop at Asian stores more often because the sizing is perfect! My size tends to have difficultly with the length and breast size of pieces I buy online.

Lion Print Soft-touch Leggings

I know what you’re thinking – does this person have an unexpected love for cats? While I do I wouldn’t go so far as to buy these leggings. To put it lightly I am not a fan of leggings (minus the extreme quality, dedication and uniqueness of Black Milk of whom you can’t hate). As part of the Christmas Sale was a free Christmas gift and I was shocked to find these in the large stockings they sent. Honestly, I thought they would just throw in some jewellery not a pair of thirty dollar leggings!

On first inspection I had no idea what I was going to do with these bright blue and orange leggings. Then I realised that they would be great for exercising, particularly in the winter when I won’t want to work out in my boxers. Now I’ll just have to get a dubbed copy of Eye Of The ‘Lion’. I joke you not I really am that cheesy.

Item Link: Item is no longer available.

Quality: I haven’t owned leggings before. While these would never stand up to the quality of Black Milk they still aren’t bad leggings. They have a nice stretch to them (good for movement). Thought the more stretch the more pale the graphic gets and the sheerer they become.

Size: While these leggings do have some stretch I doubt they would stretched more than a size twelve but feel free to prove me wrong.

Overall:

Customer Service:

I didn’t really have much
conversation with the customer service. They emailed me promptly after
ordering and exactly on dispatch with tracking information. I also took
advantage of the 20% off on your first buy deal which is exactly as it
claims.

Shipping:

I expected to
be waiting for two to three weeks which is generally how long it takes
to ship to Australia from China – which is where the store is located
and was worried because of all the horror stories I’d read after
ordering. Instead it surprised me this morning (3.01.13) after only
eight days (I ordered on Christmas Eve).

To break it down.
Three days after ordering (28.12.12) my order was dispatched as stated
on the website and three days after that the tracking information
started working. In two days the order arrived!

Overall Price:

Some
of their pieces are on the more pricey side of things though they do
have a section of less expensive clothing and accessories. As always
please check out reviews first and pictures of other people wearing the
pieces to be safe and the twenty percent off on your first order is
always great! Also, all products were paid for by myself.

I love that floral blouse. lol if you can make those lion leggings work, you're my hero.
