Goth-spiration: Spooky Non-Fashion Roundup

You guys heard in my New Years Eve post that I’ve been loving X-Files (and lots of you guys rock in that regard too!) but it’s in general that I’ve been obsessed with spooky and really creepy things lately. Here are some non-fashion things I’ve been loving recently in a variety of spooks.

Welcome to Night Value Podcast

This is a hilarious podcast for those that are dark humoured! It is the mockup of a radio station in a disturbing desert town showcasing events that happen around it, announcing bias political messages and the everyday life of Cecil the broadcaster. From ominous dust cloud  raining mid-sized dead animals into the towns peoples everyday lives to announcements to pick up litter unless it is stamped with a blue spot and instead to return home and hide in your bathroom until a white flower is left on your doorstep letting you know you are safe from harm. It’s incredibly witty and hilarious, not to mention free to listen to!

Grav3yard Girl’s Paranormal Vlogs

As of late I’ve grown an obsession with Grav3yard Girl but her paranormal Vlogs are undoubtedly my favourite. Though, they aren’t a common series anymore looking back through them there is a ridiculously amount of information and interesting stories on paranormal hunting and equipment. I myself am more than skeptic about these things but who doesn’t love a little information on Ouija boards or shadow boxes?

X-Files

Am I the only one that gets annoyed that over the Christmas holidays all of the shows that I watch get put on the back-burner? I mean, what’s more Christmas crowding around a lit fireplace, eating Christmas biscuits while watching a gory episode of American Horror Story with the whole family! Maybe not, but the point is that I’ve been forced to amuse myself with another series, X-Files. It took a little while to get into and I’ve found personally episodes are a bit hit or miss. Due to the variety of the ‘aliens’ you may not like every episode but it’s funny to see how much Supernatural resembles it!

What spooky things have you been partaking in the new year? Are you a fan of any creepy/paranormal things that I should know about? If the answer is yes, it would be a terrible terrible crime for you not to write it bellow for me to consume for days on end. I love you guys and I hope your year’s already awesome!

    Ha ha I know what you mean about spooky shows at Christmas! It must have been two years ago now, maybe more that my boyfriend got me Supernatural season 1 for Christmas and we started watching it that very day! I hate that I have to wait 2 weeks for most of my shows to come back after Christmas! Luckily I have a few older things I am watching. I need to finish watching X-files too, we got to a certain place and then all the DVDs at the shop were broken! Some of the alien stuff really grosses me out but it is a clever series! I am currently watching American Gothic, an older small town paranormal show, it is really good, it has aged well, which can't be said for all things made in that era. Twin Peaks is great too, I should rewatch that sometime, after I forget some of the finer details and it is a bit fresh again.

      I should check out American Gothic some time, but I could never get into Twin Peaks. It's just a different period than I'm really used to!

    I never heard of American Gothic either, must look that up :). Fortunately Swedish television has a tradition to show the Shining every New years eve after midnight 🙂

      Wow, that's an awesome tradition! Such a classic. :3

    I have a very early memory of X-files which involves killer bees coming out of a public toilet drain and stinging the occupant to death. I think it made me even more terrified of public toilets than before for a while >_<;

    Oooh, I love Welcome to Night Vale! Twin Peaks is another somewhat creepy one if that's what you're into; I do need to start X files properly, though.
