OotD: How I Style Velvet Shorts for a WORKOUT

The title is harking back to the previous post How I Style Velvet Shorts in my Dreams. in which I yearn for these shorts to arrive to me with a series of very different outfit collages. Well, they finally arrived! In celebration I donned some lace and went running up hills in what I deem a “workout outfit”.

T-shirt: Black Craft | Kimono: Missguided | Shorts: Asos | Socks: Asos | Boots: Doc Marten | Belt: Boohoo.com

Whether you wear them belted because they’re a bit to large (opps) or not you can’t deny they beg for dark lace and a fuck-you kind of shirt to finish off the outfit. The billowing chiffon the belt creates reminds me of Gypsy 83 but also lets your skin breathe if you’re icky from all the effort walking creates. Add in some Doc Martens (heavy enough to upgrade stepping into a task) for jumping around on rocks and wet tracks, and your not-so-typical workout t-shirt and you have yourself a Gothy ensemble fit for exercise.

What do you wear to work out? Would you ever think of wearing a Kimono belted? I’m still not sure what I think of the belted kimono. Coen says that I look like I’ve just gotten out of bed. I consider that I positive. I wish I look like I’d just gotten out of bed after every run.

  1. Yum. I love velvet shorts, but I'd probably be terrible at keeping the velvet in good condition – crushed velvet is my saviour. Wish I looked as classy (and as sweat free!) as you when I'm exercising!

  2. Workout gear? What is workout? 😉
I admit, I don't work out– but if I did, it likely wouldn't be outside… so… in my underpants, and whatever shirt my hands find first– husband's or mine.

I love your workout gear, it's classy and sassy! The belted kimono is real pretty.

  3. The belted kimono sounds brilliant! Too bad, I can't wear shorts (like yours) for workout because of the discrimination happened around me (I got a mixed-blood between two races and there's a problem like "I hate your skin color so gtfo of our country"), and I'm afraid something bad approaches.
