T-shirt: Kmart | Vest: Thrifted | Shorts: Iron First |
Shoes: Second Hand | Necklace: Etsy
I’ve wanted a waist coat for sooo long. It’s only now that I’ve
started thrifting again – I have no idea why I stopped! – that I stumbled onto
this beautiful little piece. At first I wasn’t sure if it would work with my
style because it’s so long. But pretty soon I realised I was wearing it with
every outfit. It’s perfect for layering over summer outfits. I think it gives a
bit of a seventies vibe to this Led Leppelin shirt and leopard short, and I can’t
wait for winter to layer it up in a Punk or Victorian styled outfit!

Even though vests have recently been in style they still
come with a bit of a stigma. It’s not exactly ‘cool’ to say that you wear
vests. Personally, I don’t care about that. To me they are the perfectly
layering piece and work with so many styles. Plus, I feel like I should be
wearing a turtle neck and calling myself a Beatnik every time I put it on,
which is a total bonus. What about you,
would you wear a vest?

I didn't realize vests were stigmatized. I love them! I have a faux yak-fur looking one, a pinstripe one, and a really awesome denim one with rips and bleach marks. I like to put pins and patches on it. I keep looking for a tapestry vest, and I'd really like a long, flowing one. It's been a long time since I've bought new clothes though.
