When did style stop being fun?

Wait, don’t answer that! Okay, do answer that. But it was meant as a rhetorical question. Nothing happened to fashion, or style. It’s not you, it’s me. My style and I have “had to take a break”. And after some time apart I’ve realised the issue. My style stopped being fun.

So, in an effort to bring the fun of fashion back into my life here are some things I need more of in my style:

Fun is buying a crop top because the slogan reminded me of one of my favourite movies Ghost World.

Fun is being scared to try a cut of crop top, but rocking it anyway.

Fun is getting overdressed, even if you have no where to go.

Fun is waking up and wanting to try a new hair style! (What do you think, do you like it?)

Fun is trying to make the world suck a little bit less, by wearing whatever the hell you want!

For so long I’ve been stuck in the mindset that all I need is a good game plan, to stock up on the basics, and that’ll make me happier with my style. But surprisingly it wasn’t until this sudden minimalist kick that I started to see my style more clearly. With less clothes, you really have to think about how you want your clothes to inspire you!

Has your style been brightening up your days, or has it gone stale? And when did your style stop being fun?

I’m wearing a “The World Sucks” crop top by 3rd Class, high waisted shorts from Gypsy Warrior, a faux leather thigh-harness from Gypsy Warrior, boots from Kmart and flannel from Disturbia.

  1. LOOOVE the outfit and the post! talk about style kicks, I´ve been having a mod week and I´m living it. Sometimes we need that special little something to see our clothes (and bodies?) with different eyes.
