Grav3yard Girl, Ghost World, Doom Generation and Amy Valentine have all been feeding me inspiration this year! They all have a great sense of fun in their looks, plus a grungy + 90s style I love! Through the early months of 2016 my style have developed pretty far away from my last Style Concept where I reassess my style, so I thought it’s about time for an update.

My last mini mood board was all about streamlined black looks, witchy aesthetics and a modern rock style. This season’s mood board deviates a little from that classic look in one major way: fun.

Firstly, fun! Ah, fun. If you saw my recent ootd you’ll know exactly what I mean! A couple years ago, in my first year of university I decided that I was an adult and thus had to start dressing like one – like a young corpGoth that is. It’s safe to say I’ve been piecing my wardrobe back together ever since. Floral blouses and pencil skirts got old fast.

There are a couple ways I’m inspired to get experimental and have fun with my look:

I’m inspired by Grav3yard Girl’s ever experimental hair styles and want to try to have more fun with my hair!

I’m inspired by some of my favourite films (Ghost World and Doom Generation) and their use of kitsch and nostalgia, whether that’s plastic sunglasses or nineties graphic crop tops. Oh, and their nineties aesthetic in general!

And of course I’m still obsessed with grunge and a modern rock look, but I want to get more inspired by the original rock scene’s use of colour and pattern, by not limiting myself to black everything.

All and all, these goals for 2016 are all about experimenting, having fun and not limiting myself. I know this post is a long time in the coming. I tried writing this post at least three times before this, but it’s taken me until March to get my head around what I want my 2016 style to be!

What about you? Do you have any style goals for 2016? Sometimes it just takes a collage with all of your current inspirations to realise what you’ve been missing!

Oh I love this moodboard, I see strong female characters here, this is what inspires me in my wardrobe a lot too. I love eccentricity in general and in fashion especially. I think I will try to be braver this year. Even though alterative fashion is a little fashion niche and we're kind of fashion outsiders, there's still a certain "scene code* which I want to try to go beyond this year.

Yay, Bunny's in here. I love her "Does this thing really work?" series.
