These days outfit posts are very planned. I’ll speak for myself when I say when I do an outfit post these days it’s typically planned. That’s not because I’m wearing completely different clothes than I do every day, but because I’m so much busier than I used to be.

I think this eight days straight of outfit posts really says a lot about my style. Taking daily shots of my outfits was a task in a book I’m reading called The Curated Closet. It’s step one on the path of changing my personal style to better suit me. Firstly, you have to figure out what you’re actually wearing!

One of the best parts of this is that by getting dressed everyday – which is something I usually don’t do (I’m a pajamas all day kind of girl) – it allowed me to focus in on the clothes I wasn’t wearing at all so I was able to clear my closet of all the fluff. Now it’s only filled with pieces I love and actually wear! It sounds simple but it makes getting dressed in the morning actually a happy experience.

OUT OF ALL OF THE EIGHT OUTFITS

What was your favourite outfit that you wore during the last two weeks and why? How did that outfit make you feel?

I had two favourite outfits over this period. The first was my BDSM shirt, with the floral kimono and denim shorts which I wore to go thrift shopping with a friend. It’s just so me! It made me feel confident, a little bit edgy, but also comfortable and pretty, you know?

This outfit was only slightly topped by a new floral dress I bought that arrived during the week. The wrap dress on the bottom row. This dress may be the dress of my dreams. It fits me perfectly!

What was our least favourite outfit and why? How did ti make you feel?

My least favourite outfit was my palmistry top with my velvet romper. It just didn’t work for my form. Maybe with a little bit of layering in winter it would suit me better. I’m considering getting rid of this romper altogether.

MY STYLE SUMMARY

Sarah, 22, Wants to Wake up to the Wardrobe of her Dreams

I love the aesthetic of my wardrobe, but sometimes I feel like I don’t have a lot of options (four pairs of denim shorts and only one wearable skirt?). The clothes I own are perfect to dress up when I have most of the time. But these days I’m usually throwing something on before I run out the door to go grocery shopping before I go straight to work or uni.

What do you like about your style and current wardrobe?

I like the colour scheme and the idea of all the clothes I own but most of the time the silhouette and the style just don’t work in real life or with my body type.

Which aspects of your wardrobe need work?

I want to wear more interesting clothing. Lately, I’ve been wearing a lot of t-shirts and plain shorts, and I feel comfortable in them, but I’m missing the little pieces that add a “wow” factor. The “me” factor to these plain looks.

What would your answers to these questions be? Would you ever take a photo of your outfit every day? I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is unsure of their style. It gives you all of the answers you need to figure it out.
