Happy 2017! It’s becoming a bit of a tradition to look back at my favourite outfit posts from the past year in order to see how much I’ve changed and get inspiration for the next year. What do I want to wear next year? Do I even own the same clothes as the earlier outfits in this roundup?
2016 WAS THE YEAR THAT I:
Brought my wardrobe back to basics. There wasn’t much layering this year!
Threw out all my collared blouses. I wore them so much last year I was sick of them.
Apparently wore boring shoes – they are never in the shot.
Grew out my hair, and then chopped it all off again!
Finally found jeans that worked.
Decided that wear-ability was more important than looking cool.
Then found out that they aren’t mutually exclusive.
Don’t Worry, There Are More Awesome Outfit Posts to Come!
This year was a little hit and miss in regard to outfits this year. Did you notice I stopped posting outfits towards the latter part of the year? I love doing outfit posts, but I was getting to a point where I wasn’t inspired to get dressed. I’d lost my outfit mojo. I wasn’t happy with what I was wearing and I didn’t want to buy heaps of new clothes just to have something to wear in photos.
But there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I started thinking about the clothing I really liked and consequently started getting inspired again. Let me just say I know that 2017 is going to be filled with lots more velvet, oversized romantic blouses, vampire style wear and grungy 90s outfits than ever, and it’s going to be awesome.
What do you think? Are you excited to start to new year with a new outlook on life (even if it is just your wardrobe)? Let me know your 2017 resolutions, if you make any! I’m all about being practical and making my resolutions more like goals. Leave me a comment!
