The last time I checked in with you guys about my experiment to start growing out my undercut it wasn’t going too well. That was in April 2016. I can’t believe it’s been a year since I started thinking about this! Firstly, I started out with my hair plan. But I ended giving up and shaving my undercut down again (July 2016). I got back on track when I went to a salon and had my hair cut really short (November 2016)! But where do I go from here?
Is my Undercut Going to Plan?
According to the original post, how to grow out an undercut in theory, I’m right on track at step four. It may not seem like I’ve made much process, but when writing the original plan I wanted to allow for failure. Step one and two are testing the waters. This is in order to make myself more comfortable with growing out a hairstyle I’ve had for ten years. Now, I’m happily embracing the new looks to come! Growing out my hair is exciting. I can’t wait to have it all one length!
In just four months since cutting my hair short, it has grown so much! I can almost fit the hair from my undercut into a ponytail! At the moment I’m facing the decision of whether I should cut my hair short again to match the length properly. But I’m so excited about growing my hair out long again. I’m going to wait to make that decision.
Take a look at the pictures and let me know what you think my next step should be. According to the plan when it grows out enough I wanted to go for an asymmetrical look that takes advantage of the short hair rather than hides it. But at the moment, all I can think of is how much it looks like a pixie cut on that side. Do you agree?
