Do you ever crave a new hit of dark fashion? I got to wondering a couple weeks ago, where did all the amazing Goth fashion bloggers go like The Ultimate Goth Guide and Juliet’s Lace (at least we still have The Everyday Goth!)? Unfortunately for most of us, life has got in the way. You might have noticed that I’ve been a little abscent, what with two jobs and University I have been so busy! But now that I have some time to breathe, just a short moment, I want to get back to my Goth roots. It’s time to start obsessing over some of the current Goth fashion bloggers who are killing it right now!
The self titled goth fashion blog Olivia Emily has a host of outfit of the days that range from a casual goth and grunge look to more in-depth swathed-in-velvet type outfits. What I love most about her style is that it is achievable. She uses sites like Asos and Killstar to combine casual clothes with more flamboyant pieces to make outfits that are both dark but wearable in the everyday! Not all of us can have a wardrobe filled to the brim with Spin Doctor and Punk Rave pieces!
The Haute Macabre blog isn’t your typical style blog. But it does call to mind a single epiphet that defines the Goth subculture. That is: drawing style inspiration from everything dark and ethereal around you. Whether that means current alternative music, our own gory history or from death itself. The site’s “Fearless Leaders” as they refer to themselves are New Orlean’s witch Samantha Macabre (@samanthamacabre) and Ministry loving, elder Goth Erin, along with a whole host of other contributing writers.
Bound in Bone
Bound in Bone is a dark style and lifestyle blog written by red head and “bit of a Goth” Darcie. Don’t be mistaken by the “bit of” part. She has a lot to offer in regard to dark style, killer alternative brands and a down to earth style that is wearable in the everyday. Her Currently Coveting wishlist series provides heaps of lustful options all around the internet and you can never go amiss with her constant stream of outfit of the days.
So far, these bloggers are all red heads! Maybe I have a thing for witchy red heads, who knows? Or perhaps they just do the best Goth looks! But, this next blogger will set the record straight.
Midnight and Lace
Midnight and Lace is only a year old and has already had huge success! Twenty year old Robyn’s site moto is to “always embrace the strange and unusual”. That’s a moto I can definitly get on board with! She has a palet for black, a taste for dark trends and killer style. You can’t go wrong with style posts from Mightnight and Lace.
Other notable Goth fashion bloggers include Coffin Kitsch, The Everyday Goth and, Bones and Lillies. I chose not to include them in the list because they’re old favourites. I’ve mentioned them a thousand times before on this blog! For example my 5 Fav Alternative Bloggers post and the even older SaryWalrus’ Top Five Bloggers.
Did I miss out on any of your favourites? I’m dying for new inspiration!
