Last night Sarah and I headed up to a local bar for their monthly drag night. Before nightfall we just managed to take these pictures (that’s why they’re a bit grainy!). The theme for the night was red carpet or Gala. So we donned some thrift store bought blazers and bow ties, along with out favourite high waist shorts (I told you in our last ootd together that we tend to match!) in something of a Goth prom night style.
I named this outfit of the day prom night. That’s because firstly, I thought this looked very punk meets Goth prom style (I would have preferred to wear something like this to my own). Secondly, in homage to the horror film Prom Night; which is a favourite!
I honestly thought this look was going to be a very obvious one for the night. A woman in a cute short suit, it’s been done a thousand times. But we ended up killing it and winning free drinks! Other than that, the night was as per usual awesome. My friend Lucy Fur was the host of the night and she did a great job doing trivia, performing and dealing with dickheads.
I took this opportunity to rock some different makeup than usual! Would you wear this look to a Goth prom?
The lip colour I’m wearing is a Color Pop lip liner in Dalia and a Necromancy Cosmetics lipstick in Grave Digger. This lipstick looks like a dark red in the tube, but wore really brown with the lip liner. Other than that I threw on my usual base! All cruelty free and vegan.
I’m wearing a secondhand chiffon blouse from Sports Girl found VIA Depop, a thrifted bow tie and blazer from Mickey and Mallory, and ripped denim shorts from Nasty Gal (super old). Sarah (the wonderful red head) is wearing a thrifted blazer from Mickey and Mallory, bow tie and stripped chiffon blouse are anon, and Black Milk’s Glam Rock Buttoned Shorts.
