Take this one for example. In it’s barest form it includes a chiffon blouse and a pair of vintage tartan shorts. Preppy in nature but at it’s core, it is still very me. By adding in the velvet ribbon cuffs to the sleeves, frilly ankle length socks, and a thick belt I feel like a new dimension is added. Something with a semblance of a modern victorian vibe or that dolly vibe I’m always opting for. (Have you seen my recent dolly addition! How cute is she?!)
But, for real, how cool are these velvet ribbon cuffs? I found them in an outfit post by Olivia Emily and had to snatch them up! You might recognise them from my ghost hunting outfit of the day. I didn’t get many detail shots of them peeking out from underneath my velvet blazer, so I felt I needed to give them another try! Here they look super billowy and victorian with this loose chiffon blouse.
At the end of the day, I’m perpetually conflicted about accessories. I’m not however conflicted about this outfit! Finally, after months of keeping these amazing shorts in my closet I found a way to wear them where I don’t look like a grandma. A boring grandma, at least. Belting them helped!
Do you think I succeded with this look? With these shorts? With the “subtle Victorian doll vibe”? Let me know!
