The dark aesthetic is perfect. It has an odd puritanical vibe with lots of fetish elements. The use of dark figures and smoke pays a little bit of focus on what the song calls the “Little Dark Age” that is kind of an inside joke on the “Goth phase” as well as being heavily influenced by traditional romantic motifs. You know, ravens, dark elaborate manners a la Edgar Allen Poe’s short stories, figures in the night. All of our favourite things!
This gem was released October 17th of 2017, just in time for Halloween. But we all know that Halloween isn’t just once a year, right? I could listen to this song all day!
But of course it’s all very tongue in cheek. You’ll just have to give it a listen and let me know what you think!
