Fall is here? Well, kind of. I took these pictures in homage to the fall weather that has been pasted all over the place at the moment. But in reality, here in Australia we are finally coming out of Winter and starting to appreciate the beautiful Spring weather. If you live in the Northern Hemisphere you might think that it would be disappointing to miss out on an Autumnal Halloween. But I don’t feel that way. I connect the heat and the sun with my Halloween experience, growing up celebrating Halloween and Christmas on super hot days! It’s an Australian tradition – or at least mine.
It just feels right.
Back to the irony. This was an actual outfit that I’ve been wearing lately. A great Winter outfit! Snug, comfy and doesn’t look absolutely awful. The leggings are a second hand Black Milk find and the sweater is a vintage Yale sweater. I wanted to take some pictures of myself wearing this at home lazying about as I usually would in this kind of outfit. In contrast to the stuff, I’ve been posting lately. Costumes, fetish-inspired outfits, and so forth, that aren’t exactly practical. But when taking these photos I got extremely warm! My bedroom takes a lot of the sun at this time of year. It makes for beautiful sun patterns in photos and on the walls, but also makes it extremely hot! Especially when you’re rolling around in a fur blanket.
These photos are a realistic representations of a chill day in my life, albeit I look a little prettier and I’m not usually posed to look presentable! Playing with my tarot cards, practicing with my guitar, napping glamorously and staring intently into the camera are some of my favourite hobbies. Okay, maybe not quite. Tell me what are some of your less glamorous hobbies? You know, the kind of stuff you wouldn’t post to Instagram!
