FREQUENT HAUNTS | Killstar x Rob Zombie Launch, Kinky Podcasts and More

Hi, my name is Sarah and it’s been three months since my last Frequent Haunts post (formerly know as Alt Update). But that’s because I am a self proclaimed internet addict and I’ve been spending far too much time gorging on Watts the Safeword YouTube videos and everything else in the links below. If you’ve never seen a frequent haunts post before, it’s a little collection of links that have been my haunt of choice this month. This post contains such treats as Kinky Youtubers and podcasters, my opinion on some recent launches by Killstar and Dollskill, wishlist items, and heaps more!

Don’t forget to check them out so that you can give me your opinion (especially on those Killstar and Dollskill launches) or recommend your own links you think I should be haunting.

First up is the beforementioned Watts the Safeword, which happens to go along with the Kinky theme my blog has taken in the last couple months! This is a educational Kink channel on YouTube featuring host Amp (an adorable human-puppy who loves a good pun) and often features his Daddy Mr. Kristofer. The pair are, well, absolutely adorable if I say so myself and are very experienced in the kink scene and the world of kink porn (directing and staring), which makes them an insane source of knowledge! If you do give them a watch I recommend Daddy reacts to erotic video games – it’s hilarious! Pornstar tries to find love on dating apps, or even, BDSM collars for beginners. Considering you’re reading this blog, you probably own a fashion collar and you might want to know exactly what it stands for in certain communities!

Keeping on with the kink theme, next up is the Anything by Vanilla podcast interviewing Gala Darling on her dark side!

Maybe I’m behind the times, but I’ve only recently discovered the band Twin Temple. They’re a Satanist Doo-wop group that sing such classics as: “Lucifer, My Love” and “I know how to hex you”. It’s tongue in cheek and beautiful!

“Lucifer, My Love
The candles are burning bright
Give me a little death
Take me as human sacrifice

Cause I’m just a fool
A fool in love with you
I’d never sell my soul
But I’d give it freely to you”

Speaking of Satanists, have you caught up with the new Chilling Adventure’s of Sabrina Netflix series? I’ve only watched a couple episodes and didn’t get too into it. But it appears some witches really love it, while other’s hate it!

Now onto product launches I think as questionable at best. We have Dollskill’s recent launch of their newest brand Delia’s, which is modeled after the catalogue from the early two thousands. I’m not 100% sure who this is actually made for? Who would wear this in their everyday lives? I love the 90s trend. But, maybe actually growing up in the early 2000’s has me cringing rather than enjoying this kitschy wear.

I can’t forget to mention the recent Killstar x Rob Zombie collection. I don’t hate this launch. It’s very ‘on-brand’ for them – meaning it’s similiar in style to their usual graphic look with lots of contrasting colours and dark pop culture imagery. I just want to know your thoughts? I personally don’t think I’ll be getting anything from it (I already bought into their Marilyn Manson collection from years back) but I can imagine it be such a cool collection to style and take photos of!

On the opposite end of the spectrum, this month I’m most excited for my Teale Coco Widows Peak Crop Top to arrive! This has been on my wish-list for a really long time and it finally went one sale. It looks absolutely perfect on Teale Coco and I’m excited to try it out in more everyday outfits. After reading some interviews with the model and designer, she speaks a lot about trying to take fetish wear into everyday wear. I really think this top sets the standard!

“I did not purposely set out to make fetish wear—my designs are simply inspired by some aspects of fetishism that revolve around mimicking fabrics, feels and touch of fetish-based materials like latex.”

Actually, I have a link to the interview with Teale Coco as well, along with a bunch of other fetish-wear designers in an article by Subvrt Magazine called Fetish Wear; Turning a Niche into a Way of Life. It’s all about how fetish wear is becoming more and more interwoven with the everyday. Obviously I’m a huge proprietor of this idea! What do you think on the topic?

Finally, I just love those series’ where magazines go into the homes of creatives and report on their home decor and wardrobes! I’ve become especially obsessed with Zana Bayne (leather designer of harnesses, clothing and especially bags – the pentagram harness bag was originally her creation!) The brand’s home is just as amazing as I would expect, housing Zana’s collection of vintage Playboys, a host of limited edition bags and heaps of art.

There goes! Now it’s your turn. Let me know your favs and your thoughts!
