One day I’m in full PVC, the next I’m harking back to the nineties with crop tops and flannels. Why is it that I just can’t stick to a single style?
It drives me crazy! But I guess that’s the fun of fashion. That you can try on new personalities each day. The issue is that none of us are a stereotype or a brand in real life. In our every day lives we don’t stick to the same old rules (at least I try not to!). A brand or stereotype wears the same kind of uniform every day. Sure I have my uniform. High waist denim, a band t-shirt and boots. Sometimes I throw a kimono in there! But it would be so boring if I wore variations of that every single day of my life. Don’t you think?
I adore my friends who dress completely kawaii one moment and intensely mallgoth the next. But it’s so exhausting isn’t it. It’s like having two entirely different wardrobes. At least with my style, it runs along the same single thread. Dark fashion, dark alternative, and all over witchy at the end of the day.
Do you have a uniform that you stick to? What’s your opinion on breaking your own style mould?
I’m wearing thrifted Unif shorts (that I’m selling on my Depop right now in a size Large (12-14 Aus sizing), old cross necklace from Dollskill, belt is from a Deandri separates set, boots are old Nasty Gal, socks are thrifted, crop top is old Gypsy Warrior and my lipstick is Necromany Cosmetica in shade Grave Digger.
